Ivy Kwek

Chief Executive Officer

Ivy Kwek is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Aurora Insights.

Prior to starting the company, Ivy has 16 years of experience working in the public sector where she specializes in public affairs, geopolitical risk & strategic advisory.

With her unique skillsets, she advises both governmental and private stakeholders in maneuvering the complexities of geopolitical and security dynamics in the region. 

Her career spans across the Asia-Pacific region, including roles as a policy advisor within the Malaysian government, leading international organizations, diplomatic delegations & think-tanks.  

Ivy’s research expertise includes foreign policy and geopolitical affairs in Asia-Pacific, with a special focus on China, Taiwan and Southeast Asia.

Ivy has published extensively and engaged on prominent media
outlets including the ABC News, Al-Jazeera, BBC, Bloomberg, Channel News
Asia, Deutsche Welle, Fortune, Le Monde, Nikkei Asia, Taiwan Plus and
Washington Post.

Carlos Pacheco

Director of Operations

Carlos Pacheco is the Director of Operations of Aurora Insights.

Carlos has over two decades of strategic planning, organizational development and project planning expertise in the fields of venture development and private placement. His core areas of responsibility include concept refinement, risk analysis, strategic planning and brand platform development.

Carlos brings to Aurora Insights his years of practice in strategy planning, organizational development, investor & marketing blueprints, trend analysis, and “think-tank” solutions for new ventures.

Carlos specializes in detecting and forecasting trends, and translating them into actionable strategic intelligence, revenue generating opportunities and solution sets.

Carlos is a trained mediator and served three terms on the board of directors of CDR & Associates, an international conflict & dispute resolution company.

Conor Salcetti

Analyst

Conor Salcetti is an Analyst at Aurora Insights.

Conor possesses over a decade of experience living in the Asia-Pacific region. During that time, he has worked in corporate communications for both a Taiwanese technology multinational company and an AI startup. He has also provided research and editorial support on China and Southeast Asia for a leading British business and geopolitical intelligence firm.  

Conor holds a BA in Political Science and History from UW-Madison and an MA in Asia-Pacific Studies from National Chengchi University, where his research focused primarily on Chinese technology policy.  

At Aurora Insights, Conor analyzes US trade and security policy and its impact across Southeast Asia; geopolitical risk stemming from US-China strategic competition; as well as the intersection of technology and national security and its impact on business operations, supply chains, and investment decision-making across the region. 

Khu Yen Sin

Analyst

Yen Sin is an Analyst at Aurora Insights.

Prior to joining Aurora Insights, Yen Sin worked across government affairs consulting and government-facing roles, supporting diplomatic representation and policy advisory work in Hong Kong and Beijing.

Yen Sin holds a Master’s degree from Tsinghua University and a Bachelor’s degree from City University of Hong Kong, where her research focused on China’s foreign policy and international relations.

Yen Sin has participated in youth dialogues and media discussions on ASEAN-China relations on Chinese media platforms, including China Daily and 21st Century.
